The Big Interview

Clayton had a job interview in Carlsbad. So we headed down to San Diego county together.  We saw this cool helicopter while driving through Camp Pendleton.

Anna and I hung out at this waterfall outside the office.  We thought it would be about an hour or less.  It ended up being more than 2 full hours.  We got a little sunburned but didn't care because the interview went so well.

Birthday Hike

For my birthday I just wanted to go hiking with these two peeps.

We just headed up the mountains closest to us in the Angeles Crest Forest.  It is a fun little trail.

There are cute little cabins that are super old all along the path.  I want to stay in one, but I didn't get any pictures.  It is always so peaceful hiking near water for some reason.

Poor thing fell right a asleep

Then she woke up

The Yucca plants were in bloom.  They are such weird plants.

When we got home, she just wanted to read her Book of Mormon from G&G Hansen
Overall, great birthday.

Happy Birthday to me!

Clayton made me an awesome breakfast.

Thanks Clayton!  You're the best

Update on Anna

I heard a banging sound coming from this room, so I went to check on Anna.  She had crawled into her closet and was pulling out each book one at a time, looking at it, and then throwing it. She loves her books!

We went to Clayton's grandma's ward for some family event and Anna was walking with Clayton during the meeting since she couldn't hold still.  She is walking! We are so proud of her. (I think the heels on these little shoes were actually helping her)

Visitors

Cara and her family came to Orange County so we went down and met up with them.  Mary and family and John-Stephen came too.  We had a great time visiting. We went to Balboa Island and then down to ocean for few minutes.

Trying to fit all three of these kids on the horse was an adventurous task.  Tyler, Travis, and Anna

Hanging out at Mary's apartment before heading home.

I always love the flowers around Balboa

Sick Days

This is the sweet little face we left behind on May 17th with Grandma and Grandpa Clark who were amazing and took care of her for 10 whole days including therapy appointments galore.

This is the sweet little face we returned to.
Unfortunately she caught some sort of something right before we got home, so I was lucky enough to snuggle with her for the next several days.  Poor sweet thing.

Hello Spain! We have arrived.

After forever on an airplane we arrived in Madrid.  We slept for a bit and then walked around to check out the town.

One of the entrances to the Plaza Mayor for Madrid (each city has it's own Plaza Mayor)

So many memories her for this lad

There was a huge protest going on in all the Plaza Mayors all over Spain.  It was basically equal to the Occupy Wallstreet protests that followed her in the States.  The Policia had really cool uniforms.

They were checking some peoples bags before entering the square.  Didn't check mine though, I must not have looked like a threat?

One of the apartments Clayton lived in while on his mission. Second row of balconies, corner apartment

Checking out Atocha, the train station

Turtles in the pond in the middle of the train station

It was basically like a greenhouse inside

The next day we headed to Alcala on the Renfe (train out to the other cities)

Alcala was a cool little town

Storks made these massive nests on the tops of all the buildings

There was a small museum that was free so we walked through it

Baptismal Font for Miguel de Servantes who wrote Don Quixote. He was born in Alcala de Henares.
