Yesterday I went to the LA Arboretum. It is entirely amazing. I had no idea how huge it is!
My camera however was set on the wrong setting for the first few pictures, I fixed it after this one. oops

I want to live in that house, is it a problem that it is part of a state museum? It is surrounded on three sides by water and is absolutely beautiful, especially for the time period it was built.

Really? Something is actually named Catawampus? How cool is that?

After the catawampus we headed into the jungles.
...and then into the redwood forest.

Thanks Brik. (He babysat for me while I took a trip to the restroom. I forget what do you do with your child when you have to go to the bathroom?)

I learned how talk and smile!

These pictures just crack me up so I thought I'd add them
Happy Birthday Clayton!
Excellent Restaurant!!!!
OK, yes... if you can see our stroller there on the side, it WAS rolling out into the street. Some passer by grabbed it and saved our child from sudden death off the curb. THANKYOU SIR! We are terrible parents and will definitely never do that again.
What on earth is with this heat wave? I hate it. But one night, it was so hot we slept on our porch. Ha ha, it was much cooler and kind of fun.

Pumpkins!

If you can't read the sign, it says: "How many pumpkins can you carry?" And then you pay 16.99 for as many pumpkins you can carry. You don't have to be able to walk you just have to carry them. Our friends claim they got 9 but I think they cheated. :)
Clayton got six! Now the questions is how do we carve six pumpkins? Don't worry, we'll figure it out.
The pumpkins were sold at a nursery and they had some cool plants in there. I just liked this one cuz the leaf was bigger than my whole torso.

Random

Here are some funny little pictures of Anna over the last two weeks

She had just eaten in that last one if you can't tell. And this one is a little blurry but she was smiling and it was too cute.
She is such a stoic child. She will hold still for the longest periods of time. Sometimes we have to poke her to make sure she is still alive. She sat in her Bumbo like this forever and just kept making me laugh.
We went to Orange County to visit Mary and Scott the other night and Travis wanted to hold Baby Anna. I think she might be as big as him.
We went to pool day again with some other girls in the ward and Anna actually got in this time. No she actually isn't crying. She was just squinting from the sun. I can't say she loved the cold water but she didn't hate it either which is a good thing.

Soap Box Races

Sorry this post is late, I tried it once and the computer deleted it. So here it is for real. A couple saturdays ago we took the Metro downtown and saw all the crazy little carts that people used to race down a hill in the middle of downtown. It was fun. Yes Anna was with us, she just isn't in the pictures. One of the cars was a grand piano. No, it didn't make it even to the first jump. But we had a fun time and even had a little celebrity sighting.

My funny little girl

(Above: when she falls asleep in the evenings, she folds her hands neatly in her lap and crosses her feet. It is so adorable, she looks posed but I swear she's not)

Helping mom cook

Mesmerized by the piano, she didn't move her head for the longest time
